Eating Disorders
Eating disorders are complex mental health concerns that can affect people of all ages, genders, backgrounds, and body types. They can involve food, eating behaviours, body image, exercise, and the way a person feels about themselves. Eating disorders are not a choice and can have significant emotional, physical, and social impacts.
Eating disorders can affect people at any body size and may not always be visible to others. Individuals may experience restrictive eating, binge eating, compensatory behaviours, body image concerns, or feelings of shame, guilt, anxiety, or loss of control. These challenges can affect relationships, work, school, physical health, and overall well-being.
We provide support for individuals experiencing anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge-eating disorder, Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), and other eating-related concerns.
We provide compassionate, non-judgmental, and individualized support to help you better understand the thoughts, emotions, experiences, and behaviours that may be contributing to your concerns. Together, we work toward developing healthier coping strategies and a more balanced relationship with food, your body, and yourself.
Depending on your needs and goals, therapy may incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, trauma-informed approaches, and other therapeutic strategies. When appropriate, we can also collaborate with other healthcare professionals involved in your care.
Your relationship with food does not define you. You don't have to face this alone.
