Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy
Have you experienced something that continues to affect how you feel, think, or respond today? Distressing experiences can include accidents, violence, abuse, sudden or traumatic loss, serious illness, personal injury, workplace incidents, or other overwhelming life events.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that can help individuals process distressing memories and experiences that continue to affect their emotional well-being.
EMDR uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements or alternating sounds or taps, while you focus on aspects of a difficult experience. This process can help reduce the emotional intensity associated with distressing memories and support new ways of understanding and responding to them.
EMDR may be helpful for individuals experiencing trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, phobias, distressing memories, and other concerns related to difficult or overwhelming experiences.
EMDR is provided in a safe, supportive, and individualized environment. Your therapist will work with you at a pace that respects your needs, readiness, and comfort level.
You cannot change what happened. You can change how you respond to it.
