Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Sleepless nights, depression, anxiety, addiction issues, relationship challenges, eating disorders and re-occurring thoughts can be relieved through the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). This intervention will teach you how perception of a problem is more closely connected to the reaction than the actual situation itself.

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR)

Have you experienced a life altering event, for example: an accident, fire, death of a loved one, personal injury or illness, dismissal from work? If you can relate to this or another traumatic experience, you will benefit from this therapy. Trauma is an emotional response to a terrible event. Often, unresolved trauma can lead to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

Have you ever asked yourself questions like; what am I doing wrong, why am I not moving forward, why do I keep repeating the same mistakes? Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a tool that we will use to encourage you to visualize the future you want. Together, we will create a series of realistic steps to help you get there. We will help you to understand the importance of finding solutions to problems rather than focusing on the problems themselves.

Mindfulness Practice

Feeling overwhelmed, frustrated and that there is just not enough time in the day to get things done? We will use mindfulness as a tool to help you focus on the current moment without questioning if what you are feeling is okay. Using this technique, we will explore how more productive you can be.

Relaxation Training

Do you ever forget to breathe? We will explore various methods, processes, procedures and activities to help you relax, with the goal of attaining a state of increased calmness.

Art Therapy

Children can’t always use their words to say how they feel. I’ve found using Art Therapy extremely beneficial in understanding what they are feeling but can’t seem to express. Most kids are proud to show their artwork and tell me all about it. Together, we explore the symbolism in their drawings and what they are experiencing.

Exposure Therapy

Do you fear animals, insects, flying, small spaces or other seemingly “irrational fears” that people don’t understand? Together, we will face your fears in a protected and supportive environment using small, incremental steps. Such exposures are often conducted first in imagination and then in real life. This technique has worked very well for many of my clients.

Assertiveness Training

Do you feel disrespected, intimated by family, co-workers or members of the general public? Together, we will help you find your voice and acquire the tools so that you can become more confident, self-assured and able to ask for what you want and need, while respecting the rights and opinions of others.
